Confidentiality is of the utmost importance at WOCDC. Members, participants and visitors are expected to keep any personal information and experiences shared at WOCDC events, programming and meetings confidential.
Due to the nature of WOCDC programming and events, people may share personal information, such as name, age, workplace, school etc., as well as personal experiences, including but not limited to family circumstances, and traumatic experiences. Accordingly, confidentiality is of the utmost importance at WOCDC. Members, participants and visitors are expected to keep any personal information and experiences shared at WOCDC events, programming and meetings confidential.
That being said, the following information shall NOT be treated as Confidential Information: information (a) that is in the public domain or is known by others in the field at the time of disclosure; (b) that is in the possession of the Receiving Party free of any obligation of confidentiality prior to the time of disclosure; (c) that subsequently becomes part of the public domain or becomes publicly known through no fault of the receiving party; (d) that subsequently is received by the receiving party without any obligation of confidentiality from a third party who is free to disclose the information; (e) that is independently developed by the receiving party without the use of any Confidential Information; or (f) that is required to be disclosed to comply with applicable laws or regulations, or with a court or administrative order. Finally, if we think you intend to harm yourself or others, or if we think you are endangering a population that cannot protect itself, (i.e. child or elder abuse), the appropriate people will be notified.
