Double Opt-In Verification
When our website visitors fill out the “Join the Sisterhood”, “Become an Ally” or “Subscribe to our Blog” forms, we send them a verification email so they can confirm their interest once again. This double opt-in verification method is a way of ensuring that our new members and subscribers genuinely want to hear from us.
While double opt-in verification is an excellent CASL compliance measure, we know that everyone’s preferences and needs change. So, to make sure that our marketing list is always up-to-date in terms of our members and subscriber’s consent and permission, we will always include a link to “update email preferences” and “unsubscribe”.
Setting Email Expectations
In full transparency, we would like to disclose the types of emails that we will send to our members, allies and blog subscribers:
Monthly Newsletters for Members and Allies
These will be sent on the first Tuesday of every month. They will be our main touchpoint with our members and allies outside of our social media platforms. We will use this email to inform them of upcoming events and socials, news and highlights from the past month, and some featured articles from our blog.
These emails will be relatively rare. We will send these out one or twice a month in case there are any time-sensitive announcements that can’t wait for the next monthly newsletter. These could be press mentions, surveys, social media-specific etc.
Depending on the blog subscriber’s preferences, these will be sent out either on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. These will feature articles from our blog and any other blog-specific content.
